Pharmacies to close Tuesday over liberalization of hours

Pharmacies around Greece will be closed on Tuesday afternoon to coincide with a parliamentary debate on their opening hours.

The government has suggested that pharmacists should be free to choose to keep their stores open on weekends and afternoons but the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association opposes the move, arguing that it would lead to pharmacists working excessive hours and possibly making mistakes when serving customers.
