Three arrested in Argolida over PPC transformers theft

Three men have been arrested in the Peloponnesian prefecture of Argolida on suspicion of stealing 250,000 euros? worth of equipment from the Public Power Corporation.

The arrests came after police stopped a car in Neo Iraio on Sunday.

Three Pakistani men were taken into custody after 200 kilos of copper was found in the vehicle.

Police said that the metal came from a transformer that had been stolen from PPC.

Authorities said that the suspects were likely responsible for the theft of 26 PPC transformers since December.
