Suspicious briefcase found after court bomb claim
Following what was initially believed to have been a hoax call claiming a bomb had been planted in the Athens Appeals Court on Alexandras Avenue, bomb squad officers later on Friday found a suspicious briefcase in a toilet booth on the seventh floor of the building, which was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
Earlier in the day an anonymous caller had claimed that a bomb had been timed to go off in the court building, prompting authorities to evacuate it and cordon off the area.
