Two arrested after illegal guns found

Police in Igoumenitsa, northwestern Greece, have arrested two Albanian nationals on charges of carrying illegal weapons and entering the country illegally, Skai reported on Monday.

Police on Monday stopped a 28-year-old man in Nea Selefkia, a small town northwest of Igoumenitsa, and conducted a search discovering two Kalashnikov rifles and five cartriges with 124 bullets inside a bag. The man was also found carrying a Tokarev pistol with 54 bullets.

Police later arrested a second suspect, believed to be an associate, Skai reported. The man, 25, was found carrying 3,600 euros in cash and two cell phones.
