Turkey’s Bagis does not rule out annexation of N. Cyprus
Ankara would consider annexing the Turkish-occupied north of Cyprus if talks between Greek- and Turkish-Cypriot leaders aimed at reunifying the island fail to yield a settlement, Turkey?s European Affairs Minister Egemen Bagis has told a Turkish-Cypriot newspaper.
In comments published in Kibris on Sunday, Bagis said there were several ?options on the table.?
?Reunification under a deal that the two leaders could reach, creation of two independent states after an agreement between the two leaders if they are unable to reach a deal for reunification, or annexation of the KKTC to Turkey,? Bagis said, referring to the Turkish-occupied north of Cyprus by its acronym.
