University rectors to hold talks Friday with new minister
University rectors, who held a regular conference in Ioannina over the weekend, said on Sunday that they would meet with new Education Minister Giorgos Babiniotis (photo) on Friday to discuss the problems the institutions are having in enforcing the tertiary education reforms passed last summer.
The rectors agreed during their meeting that the ministry had not been constructive in addressing the tension that has been created by the reforms.
The rectors? conference was marred by clashes between riot police and leftist students on Saturday.
