Condoms, syringes to be handed out in anti-HIV drive
A state campaign aimed at reducing a sharp rise in new HIV cases will issue free condoms and syringes to heroin addicts, according to a parliamentary document signed by Deputy Health Minister Michalis Timosidis and made public on Tuesday.
Volunteers will join employees of the State Organization Against Drugs (OKANA) in distributing 30,000 condoms and 10,000 syringes in a drive to be launched in central Athens, where the increase in cases has been the sharpest.
