Aspis Pronia trial to resume after Easter
The trial of Pavlos Psomiadis president of the defunct Aspis Pronia life insurance firm has been suspended and will resume after Easter.
The proceedings were halted in order for the defense to prepare its case.
Psomiadis, along with his wife and daughter, is being accused of fraud and embezzlement. He has been charged with providing Aspis’s creditors with a false 550-million-euro letter of guarantee from a British bank to keep the business afloat.
Meanwhile, the Greek Ministry of Finance has blocked 50 percent of Aspis assets, effectively blocking the process of the group’s liquidation.
