Five Pakistanis held over theft of cables from OSE tracks
Authorities on Tuesday were questioning five Pakistani nationals believed to be members of a ring of thieves that removed 8 kilometers of copper cabling from a stretch of the Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE) network in the prefecture of Viotia, north of Athens.
Police said they were also seeking another four people in connection with the theft of the underground signal cabling which is believed to have cost the already debt-wracked OSE a total of 984,000 euros while also undermining the safety of the railway network.
