Children’s author Sarri dies at 87

Children?s author and actress Georges Sarri has died at the age of 87.

Sarri, born Georgia Sarivaxevani, was best known for her children?s books such as Vayia?s Treasure. In 1994 she won the Best Children Literature book award for her book Ninet. But she also translated 14 works of literature from French and worked as an actress.

Her funeral will take place in Athens?s First Cemetery on Tuesday.
