Missing weapons investigation launched
Police on Tuesday ordered an investigation into the disappearance of heavy weaponry — including submachine guns — from a police depot on the Aegean island of Kos amid suspicions that officers were involved.
Suspicions were raised as the officer who had been on duty when the arms disappeared on Saturday is said to have mentioned that the depot locks had been tampered with on Wednesday but only reported it on Saturday.
