Prison guard denies inmate transfer allegations
The head of the prison guards? union at Alikarnassos jail, Nikos Filipakis, has vehemently denied reports that a 35-year-old inmate obtained under false pretences a medical note that allowed him to be transferred to the psychiatric wing of Korydallos Prison, where he donated money for the construction of a swimming pool.
?If someone tries to interfere in the work of the doctors, they will report it immediately,? he told Kathimerini. ?They are the only ones that can issue medical certificates.?
The case involving the 35-year-old, in temporary custody on usury charges, is being investigated by the Justice Ministry.
