Gang with expensive taste arrested in Thessaloniki

Police in Thessaloniki on Thursday arrested six people believed to have bought luxury goods with bounced checks before selling them at lower prices.

Police said the suspects, who had set up a front business in Larissa, had managed to illegally aquire nearly 162,000 euros? worth of luxury items, including five vehicles, between March and May 2011.

The six have been charged with setting up a criminal organization, fraud, forgery and money laundering.
