Eighteen go on trial over terror group attacks

Eighteen suspects are to stand trial for participating in the urban guerrilla group Conspiracy Cells of Fire, according to a decision by the Athens Court of Appeals on Monday.

Some of the suspects have already received stiff jail sentences for attacks against former ministers Panayiotis Hinofotis and Louka Katseli, as well on the Macedonia-Thrace Ministry in Thessaloniki.

Charges this time are connected to more than 200 bomb attacks carried out by the terrorist organization between 2008 and 2011.

The trial will be held in a specially designed room in Korydallos Prison.
