Prison staff stage rolling work stoppages

Staff at prisons across the country are to stage rolling work stoppages from Wednesday through Friday in protest at the suspension of the director of Korydallos jail in Athens and another two colleagues following the release of a man accused of participating in the killing in 2011 of two members of the police’s motorcycle-riding Dias squad.

The protesters also object to the understaffing at prisons which has resulted from recent government cutbacks.
