Court asks for more details in money-laundering probes
The general commissioner of the State Court of Audit, Dionisios Laskaratos, has asked for a record to be drawn up detailing the sums that were not included in the source of wealth declaration forms (known as “pothen esches”) of former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos and publisher and television presenter Themos Anastasiadis.
While the former is currently in Athens’s Korydallos Prison pending trial on money-laundering charges, the latter was ordered to stand trial on felony charges for money laundering and tax evasion earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the authority was expected to order a similar record to be drawn up with regard to sums not included in the pothen esches of former Transport Minister Tasos Mantelis.
