Female teacher, 52, detained on child porn charges
Officers of the electronic crimes squad on Tuesday arrested a 52-year-old female teacher on child pornography charges.
According to sources, police traced the woman – a teacher of foreign languages at a private school – following a tipoff from a Dutch journalist who said colleagues of hers researching a known Dutch pedophile had put her in touch with the 52-year-old.
Posing as a pedophile, the Dutch journalist visited Greece and met with the 52-year-old before briefing the authorities.
A raid on the home of the teacher, who is the first woman in Greece to face charges related to child pornography, turned up 34 magazines containing images of children being sexually exploited, a pad containing handwritten notes about a pedophile movement in Greece and names of suspected members who participated in the organization’s sessions.
