Samaras starts meetings with coalition partners, top ministers
The critical situation in Cyprus is forcing the Greek government to take action as well, with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras planning a series of meetings with his coalition partners and his top ministers from Monday afternoon, despite the holiday.
Samaras will meet with Interior Minister Antonis Manitakis to discuss progress on the issue of civil sector layoffs, before hosting a meeting with Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras later in the day.
Then on Tuesday Samaras will chair a meeting at 6 p.m. with PASOK president Evangelos Venizelos and Demicratic Left chairman Fotis Kouvelis.
