Four-hour demonstration…
Residents of towns in northwestern Attica which have been earmarked for new landfills staged a four-hour demonstration outside Parliament yesterday. In a heated debate, deputies agreed to hold a roll-call vote on the legislation today. Protesters met with members of the Parliament presidency. Eight members of the ruling PASOK party resigned from their posts in the North Attica regional government in protest.
