Ministry to hire doctors for Greek islands facing shortage

Amid complaints about a lack of doctors on Greek islands, the Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that it is planning to hire 53 doctors on short-term contracts.

The medics will fill positions at health centers on Syros, Naxos, Rhodes, Kalymnos, Limnos and Kythera. Eight of the doctors will work at hospitals on Crete.

The doctors will be offered 12-month contracts.
