Safecrackers nabbed in Athens, Thessaloniki and Kavala
Six people alleged to have been part of a safecracking gang have been arrested in coordinated police raids in Athens, Thessaloniki and Kavala.
Officers said on Tuesday that the raids took place early on Monday and that five of the six men arrested are Greeks, the other is Albanian.
The suspects are alleged to have been part of a gang that broke into a number of safes in the Kavala area between August 2011 and February 2012.
They are alleged to have stolen at least 125,000 euros in cash and numerous valuable items.
