Judicial council to mull Papaconstantinou indictment
The vice prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Anastasios Kanellopoulos, is to complete a five-member judicial council that is being set up to determine whether or not former Finance Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou should be indicted to trial for mismanaging the so-called Lagarde list of wealthy Greek creditors in accordance with a vote in Parliament.
The decision on Kanellopoulos was made after a lot drawn in Parliament on Wednesday selected Panagiotis Nikoloudis who cannot join the council as he testified to the parliamentary committee probing Papaconstantinou’s handling of the Lagarde list.
The judicial council is to decide whether there are adequate grounds for the charges against Papaconstantinou and whether any have expired under the statute of limitations
