Second suspect in Larissa blast linked to crime syndicate leader Panayiotis Vlastos

Anti-terrorism squad officers on Monday arrested a 44-year-old man in connection to a bomb explosion in Larissa, central Greece, which damaged 19 buildings and several vehicles early on Saturday.

The suspect, who was known to the police for previous cases of blackmail, was the second man to be arrested in connection with the case following the arrest of a 39-year-old man near the scene of the explosion.

The explosives had been placed outside an apartment block where a local prosecutor lives.

The latter had been involved in the case of convicted crime syndicate leader Panayiotis Vlastos. The 44-year-old suspect is believed to be an aide of Vlastos, Kathimerini understands.
