Boy, 13, rescued from Athens cave after being trapped for five hours
Rescue workers managed to free a 13-year-old boy who became trapped in a cave in the Attiko Woods in Athens on Monday morning.
The child fell into the cave at around 9.30 a.m. but it took rescuers until around 2.30 p.m. before they could lift the boy to safety.
The cave was about 9 meters deep and the boy hurt his leg during his fall. He was taken to the hospital for tests.
