Pensioners to receive January installment on Dec. 23

Public sector pensioners will receive their January pension a week early on December 23, the Finance Ministry said Thursday.

The decision, which was signed Thursday by deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, was made because of the holiday season, the ministry said in a statement.

Payment was originally scheduled for December 30.
