Bomb threat causes delayed ship departure

A bomb threat temporarily closed the port of Kyllini in western Greece and resulted in a ship’s departure being delayed on Saturday.

Police are looking into the incident after an anonymous person called port authorities on the island of Zakynthos saying there was a bomb on the Kefalonia ferry boat, which belongs to Kefalonian Lines.

The ship, which was bound from Kyllini to Cephalonia, was evacuated as police with bomb-sniffing dogs searched the vessel. The ship sailed two hours after its scheduled departure time after no explosives were found on board.
