‘Struggling businessman’ in northern Greece wins New Year’s lottery
A father of three from Kavala, in northern Greece, is the winner of this year’s national lottery, netting 3.5 million euros after taxes, it emerged on Thursday.
The man, who had not claimed his prize by late last night, is a small businessman who had been struggling in recent months, according to the lottery ticket vendor who sold him the ticket.
Another two people from Kavala won 500,000 euros each in the draw.
