Anarchist arrested for violating restricted-residence order

Anarchist Costas Sakkas, accused of being a member of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire urban guerrilla group, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly violating his restricted-residence order, a term issued upon his conditional release from pretrial custody in July.

Police said that Sakkas had spent the night at a house in Neo Psychico, northern Athens, where he was arrested. Sakkas was arrested on December 4, 2010 outside an apartment where arms were being hidden in Nea Smyrni, southern Athens. H

e denies being a member of Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire.
