Police seek Georgian woman in connection to Thessaloniki woman’s death

Police in the Thessaloniki district of Toumba are looking for a 34-year-old Georgian national in connection to the death of a 95-year-old Greek woman in June last year.

Another three suspects – two women and a man, also Georgian – have been arrested.

According to reports the elderly woman died from the effects of being robbed and abandoned for three days while her family was away on holiday.

During that time, the 34-year-old suspect was supposed to have been taking of her. The carer allegedly robbed her ward with the help of the three suspects in custody, making off with 260,000 euros in cash and 100,00 euros’ worth of jewelry.
