Search for missing sailor in Saronic Gulf
Greek coast guard authorities were scouting the Saronic Gulf sea area in search of a 27-year-old man, reportedly onboard a Dutch-flagged sailing boat, the AMNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
The unidentified sailor had reportedly set sail from the Alimos Marina, in southern Athens, on Tuesday and was heading to the port of Lavrio, in northeastern Attica.
The man had contacted port authorities for the last time on Tuesday afternoon to report a mechanical failure. He said he would continue his journey by sails.
