Civil servants set for two 48-hour strikes in coming weeks
Greece’s civil servants union, ADEDY, is to hold two 48-hour strikes in the coming weeks to protest legislation that will lead to job losses in the public sector as a result of organizations being merged or shut down.
ADEDY is planning to hold a 48-hour strike on the day the legislation is due to be debated and voted on in Parliament. It is also organizing a 48-hour protest for March 13 and 14 to protest job losses that are due to be announced as a result of civil servants placed in a labor pool not finding other work.
Further strikes over this issue might be held.
