Death toll from flu climbs to 49

The death toll during the particularly aggressive flu season that began in early January rose to 49 on Thursday, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) has said, adding that 56 patients are currently receiving treatment at various intensive care units around the country.

KEELPNO warns residents to take precautions against contracting and spreading the infection. It is also urging vulnerable members of the population to get a flu jab even though the usual date for inoculation has passed.
