Civil servants rally in central Athens
A rally organized by Greek civil servants umbrella union ADEDY on Wednesday saw doctors, school guards and teachers, local government staffers and other civil servants protesting against layoffs in the public sector in central Athens.
Streets surrounding Syntagma Square were closed on Wednesdsay morning, as public sector employees protested against the government’s mobility scheme foreseeing forces transfers and dismissals.
Public hospitals were operating on skeleton staff throughout the day.
