Rector held hostage by students in Thessaloniki

The rector of Thessaloniki’s Aristotle University, Ioannis Mylopoulos, has alleged that he was held hostage by a group of leftist students on Wednesday.

According to Mylopoulos a group of about 100 students entered his office and asked him to authorize free meals for students at the university’s restaurant area.

Mylopoulos claimed that a few days ago he was asked by another group of students to allow students to reside on campus even after their graduation.

A Council of Rectors was expected to take place on Friday.
