Eight arrests in two major drugs busts in Greece

Two people have been arrested in Athens after police found some 60 kilos of heroin buried in Aspropyrgos, west of the capitals.

The arrests were carried out by the police’s anti-drugs squad. More details are expected later on Monday.

The arrests come after six Bulgarians were caught over the weekend by border guards in Evros, northeastern Greece, trying to smuggle around 50 kilos of cocaine into the country.

The drugs were shipped to Greece in a boat and then loaded into a car.
