Police arrest three members of Pink Panther gang of jewel thieves

Three members of the Serbian Pink Panther gang of jewel thieves who have carried out robberies in Britain, Dubai, Japan and Switzerland have been arrested in Athens, police sources said on Friday.

The three gang members are all Serbian nationals. Along with a fourth suspect, who continues to elude police, they are believed to be behind more than 30 jewelry store burglaries in Attica alone, netting a total loot in excess of half a million euros.

The suspects entered the jewelry stores by driving stolen cars through the glass facades, grabbing the valuables and fleeing in a second vehicle.
