Civil servants take to streets to protest mobility scheme
The civil servant’s union, ADEDY, is planning a series of protests in several Greek cities on Monday to protest the public sector mobility scheme.
The main demonstration will be at 3 p.m. outside the Finance Ministry in Athens, where some 400 sacked cleaners have been protesting for several weeks.
The union representing local authority employees, POE-OTA, has planned to rally outside the Administrative Reform Ministry at 1 p.m. Union leaders say they will deliver a petition against the mobility scheme to minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Public sector unions have called a 24-hour strike for Wednesday, July 9.
