Inmate killed by cellmate in Domokos Prison
A disciplinary investigation has been ordered by the Justice Ministry into what led to a 48-year-old inmate at Domokos jail in central Greece killing one fellow prisoner and seriously injuring another.
According to prison officials the three inmates, who shared a cell, started arguing at 3.15 a.m. By the time prison guards reached the cell, the 48-year-old had killed one of his cellmates, aged 32, and wounded the other, aged 40.
The 48-year-old was serving a life sentence. He is believed to have stabbed his victims with a shard of glass.
The 32-year-old was serving a 12-year sentence for robbery. The 40-year-old was taken to Lamia Hospital for treatment.
