Police release new photos of fugitive Roupa

Authorities have released four new photographs of Panayiota Roupa, the fugitive partner of urban guerrilla leader Nikos Maziotis who was arrested by police last week.

Roupa, 45, is seen with short blond hair and appears a lot thinner than in previous photographs. The CCTV images were reportedly taken between July 12-13 in the area of Maroussi, northern Athens. After Maziotis’s arrest, police found an apartment in the area that was used by the couple.

Police suspect that Roupa may be armed, as an empty gun holster was found at the apartment. She is also believed to have removed a computer with key evidence from the house.

Meanwhile, police are still looking for a silver Hyundai Accent that Maziotis bought under the name of Michalis Michelakis.

Police sources, who believe that Maziotis had been planning a terrorist hit over the summer, have said they do not rule out the possibility that members of terror group Revolutionary Struggle could be planning an attack as revenge for the arrest of the organization’s leader.
