Motorists refusing to pay tolls on Corinth-Kalamata highway to be monitored

Cameras are to be installed at toll booths on the Corinth to Kalamata national road in the Peloponnese to record the details of cars whose drivers fail to pay toll charges.

The devices will be installed at four toll stations along the highway on the orders of the local police chief.

The “I won’t pay” movement emerged in 2010 largely in the wake of rises in charges on national roads and led to some motorists refusing to hand over money when passing through the toll stations.
