Film Festival opens gates
Cameramen mob Faye Dunaway, this year’s guest of honor at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. The American actress, who is to play the leading role in a film about diva Maria Callas, has been honored both by the festival and the City of Thessaloniki. This year, a total of 201 films will be participating, divided into the categories of an international competition section, New Horizons, Balkan Survey and the Greek State Awards, among others. The festival will feature a special tribute to British director John Boorman. They have abandoned the concept of a single state with two politically equal communities called for by the Security Council, he said.
