Court to hear Kasidiriaris-Kanelli case
An Athens court was scheduled to hear the case against Golden Dawn’s Ilias Kasidiaris in connection to charges of attempted grievous bodily harm to Greek Community Party (KKE) MP Liana Kanelli, during a brawl on a live morning show on Antenna television in June 2012.
The incident occurred during a political debate when Kasidiaris threw a glass of water at SYRIZA’s Rena Dourou, currently Attica governor, before slapping Kanelli, over a disagreement regarding oil reserves south of Crete.
Kasidiaris is currently in pre-trial custody at Korydallos Prison in connection with another case, a large scale investigation on the activities of the ultra nationalist party.
