Jailed ex-mayor undergoes heart surgery
Ex-Thessaloniki Mayor Vassilis Papageorgopoulos, currently serving a prison sentence for embezzlement, underwent surgery on Wednesday to unblock his arteries.
Doctors at the Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki said the angioplasty was a success but that the former public official would have to undergo a second operation to unblock another artery.
