Truck hiding 27 migrants stopped at port
Authorities have arrested 27 undocumented immigrants who were found hidden inside the back of a truck at the port of Igoumenitsa, in northwestern Greece.
Police also arrested the 42-year-old driver on charges of people smuggling. The nationality of the immigrants has not been made public.
The vehicle and the cargo, said to be glass products, have been confiscated by the authorities.
Greece is a major gateway into the European Union for migrants from Africa and the Middle East.
