Greek gov’t calls on parties to condemn Maziotis threat

Government spokeswoman Sofia Voultepsi on Tuesday called on all parties to condemn Revolutionary Struggle leader Nikos Maziotis for his “attempt to terrorize” New Democracy MP Adonis Georgiadis.

Maziotis issued a statement arguing that Georgiadis should be “executed in front of thousands of people in Syntagma Square and his corpse be hung upside down… like Benito Mussolini.”

The convicted terrorist’s outburst came after the lawmaker said he had personally intervened so Maziotis could not take part, by phone, in a recent event at the National Technical University of Athens called “Armed Struggle, Revolutionary Movement and Social Revolution.”
