Prosecutor calls for action to stop school sit-in vandalism

Supreme Court prosecutor Efterpi Koutzamani called on prosecutors around the country on Tuesday to make efforts to ensure public schools are not being damaged during sit-ins by students.

More than 500 schools in Greece were occupied by pupils at the start of the week but this figure fell to just over 350 on Tuesday.

However, Koutzamani called on prosecutors to take legal action against any adults entering school grounds and causing damage.

She also called for action against parents if pupils engage in criminal acts during protests.
