Police seek to name man who opened fire with AK47 at Piraeus bar

The police have reportedly asked prosecutors for special permission to name the man suspected of opening fire with a Kalashnikov rifle at a bar in Piraeus early on Saturday, injuring more than 10 people.

According to sources, the suspect is an Albanian man in his thirties. Police suspect that he was involved in three similar incidents in the past, resulting in one death and several injuries.

Four of the 15 people injured in the attack in Mikrolimano are still in hospital but none are in a life-threatening condition.
