New terms for civil servants
As of the start of 2015, anyone hired in Greece’s public sector will be given their jobs on a trial basis for two years and with a starting salary equivalent to those offered in the private sector.
A new system has been in effect since January 1 and new hires will be paid a gross starting salary of between 586 and 787 euros per month. They will have to pass an assessment at the end of their two-year trial in order to secure their jobs.
