Kolonaki restaurant owner arrested for issuing bogus receipts
The 55-year-old owner of a restaurant in Kolonaki, central Athens, has been arrested after it emerged that he and his brother, 51, had set up an elaborate system to issue fake receipts to clients since 2009.
The Financial Police discovered that the two brothers, both of whom face charges, had issued more than 15,000 receipts using the system.
Officers are waiting for the local tax office to establish the amount of tax that the two men evaded while the scam was in operation.
