Search for student missing since February 6 intensifies
Police officers from Thessaloniki on Wednesday wrapped up a probe to collect evidence in connection to the disappearance of 22-year-old Vangelis Giakoumis from Ioannina, where he was studying, on February 6.
The Dairy School student was last seen walking into Ioannina city center 20 days ago. He had left his mobile phone, wallet and other personal belongings in his dormitory room.
People are concerned about a conversation he had with a relative the night before he disappeared in which he expressed concern about his low grades and being teased by some of his fellow students.
The Dairy School is conducting an internal investigation to establish whether Giakoumis had been bullied.
Police are also searching for the student in Athens after three people reported seeing someone who looks like him on the Athens-Piraeus electric railway.
